SteelSeries Sensei [RAW] Frost Blue Edition

SteelSeries Sensei [RAW] Frost Blue Edition Gaming Mouse

SteelSeries Sensei [RAW] Frost Blue Edition Gaming Mouse

Introduction

SteelSeries's critically acclaimed Sensei gaming mouse is back in white! The new [RAW] edition is an attempt to conquer the performance lead in the mid to high-end gaming mouse arena. The [RAW] edition closely resembles the original Sensei in terms of aesthetics. However, a lot of the clever technical features are gone.

This is the mouse for you if you can do without the LCD display and customizable LED lights of the original.

Although SteelSeries dubbed it [RAW], it is still a mouse with a wealth of features. It still comes with one of the best customization suites and has all of the buttons found on the original design, and the sensor has not been altered because Avago's ADNS-9500 is still one of the best laser sensors around.

Intel Introduces Fourth-Generation Core Processors

Intel Introduces Fourth-Generation Core Processors

Intel Logo
In anticipation of next week's Computex trade show in Taiwan, Intel today introduced its new 4th-generation Core processors for desktop and laptop PCs.
These 4th-generation Core processors (formerly known as Haswell) will gradually replace last year's 3rd-generation Core processors (formerly known as Ivy Bridge) in many of the same system setups and configurations. In addition to existing form factors and chassis, the new 4th-generation processors are expected to find their way into new and innovative systems announced at Computex.
Intel's 4th-generation processors are being built on a new 22nm manufacturing process, which was introduced with the 3rd-generation Core processor. If you're counting, this is the "tock" to Ivy Bridge's "tick" on Intel's tick-tock marketing strategy. "Tock" refers to a new microarchitecture and "Tick" means a die (manufacturing) shrink.
Like previous Ivy Bridge (i3/i5/i7-3xxx) processors, the new Haswell processors will come with an i3, i5, or i7 brand number followed by a four to five digit model number starting with the number 4. For example, the new quad-core desktop processors will include the Core i7-4470K high-end processor and the i5-4570T midrange processor. The new desktop processors will fit into motherboards with the new LGA-1150 socket. Mobile processors will likewise use a similar naming scheme with the i3/i5/i7 brand followed by a five- to six-digit model number. The new processors feature new Intel HD Graphics, Iris Graphics, and Iris Pro Graphics. Iris Graphics and Iris Pro Graphics will give users increased levels of performance on 3D apps like games and professional workstation programs.
Computex 2013
Fourth-gen mobile and desktop processors will be energy efficient, allowing system manufacturers to expand and refine their designs for new product categories like portable All-in-One desktops and hybrid ultrabooks that can detach their screens from the keyboard base so the ultrabook acts like a tablet. Energy-efficient Haswell processors will allow for thinner, lighter laptops without the performance hit associated with moving to a lower-powered Atom platform. Likewise, oltrabooks and other laptops that stay the same size are anticipated to feature significantly increased battery life while using 4th-generation Intel Core processors.
Look for reviews of the new Intel Core i7-4770k processor as well as desktop and mobile PCs with 4th-gen Intel Core processors on PCMag.com in the coming weeks.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Video Review - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the next chapter in the best-selling Call of Duty first-person shooter action series. Modern Warfare 3 is a direct sequel to the previous game in the series, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The game will continue the campaign storyline in which the US forces struggle against an invasion by the Russian Federation following the framing of an undercover US agent in a terrorist attack on Moscow. Not only does the game contain classic Call of Duty multi-character control, but Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 contains deep multiplayer support, including two-player co-op Survival mode. The game will also contain all-new kill streak categories and customizable strike packages that offer you more options to find the style that fits you best.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an open-world action role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios. It is the fifth game in the popular Elder Scrolls role-playing game series, and is set 200 years after the events of the previous installment; The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The game takes its name from the province of Skyrim in which the game is set, and the main story is focused on the player's quest to defeat Alduin, a Dragon god prophesized to destroy the world.

Crysis 3

Crysis 3

crysis 3 review

An action hero’s weapon is an extension of their identity. They’re inseparable implements, representative of their approach to combat and justice. Bond’s silenced PPK. Batman’s iconic boomerang. Mjölnir and Thor. Even Popeye’s transformative spinach says something about him as a character.
What does the Nanosuit say about its wearer in Crysis? That the player has a need to improvise, a need to see-saw between being an assassin and being a brute. “Press Q,” reads the manufacturer’s tag on the collar, “to harden your skin like a brick wall. Press E to become as transparent as a pane of glass. Tumble dry low.”
Crysis, at its best, is a franchise that puts you in situations where the Nanosuit doesn’t do the dirty work for you, but simply serves as a springboard for spontaneous problem-solving in hazardous battle-playgrounds. Crysis 3 doesn’t deviate from this template, but it does mostly repeat Crysis 2’s interpretation of it. It’s a less sandboxy and groundbreaking one than the original Crysis, to be sure, but linearity isn’t an inherent sin. Crytek’s shooter remains one of the best-looking games anywhere. It’s acrobatic and deliberate, especially in multiplayer, and an expression of what PC hardware can do.

New New York

Crysis 3’s campaign feels more of a continuation than a reinvention of Crysis 2. You’re still in the Big Apple, though one that looks like your neighbor’s house when they’ve been on vacation for a month, leaving their mail to pile up and yard to overgrow. Paramilitary bad-guy corporation CELL has taken credit for your heroic effort in the last game, and while you’ve been asleep they’ve gotten busy exploiting some secret power source to revitalize ruined NYC. Enormous, spherical barriers called Nanodomes have been erected to accelerate ecosystem growth.
At the start of the story you’re sprung from a stasis pod by Psycho, a former fellow Raptor Team member, to join a rebellion against CELL. Psycho and others have been “skinned” of their Nanosuits, making you, Prophet, the only one on the planet. Cue the standard “you’re humanity’s savior” spiel: Prophet’s unique bond with Ceph DNA grants him new power, but also exposes him to potentially being controlled by the Ceph hivemind. Psycho’s vendetta to find out who separated him from his superskin motivates the first few hours. He joins you as a temporary companion character on missions to sabotage a few well-designed CELL facilities, like a hydroelectric dam.
My hope was that this plot and the terraforming power of Nanodomes would be natural excuses for Crytek to create a broad set of exotic environments. And my worry was that Crysis 3 might simply coat Crysis 2’s somewhat-claustrophobic city blocks with moss. In 2011, I criticized the sequel’s narrowness: “Expressing your abilities as a player demands vertical and horizontal space, and there’s slightly less of it in NYC than I would’ve liked.”
